Buyer’s Guide to Toro TimeCutter SS Series Zero Turn Riders

Buyer's Guide to Toro TimeCutter SS Series Zero Turn Riders

The Toro TimeCutter SS series zero turn riders are Toro’s smaller chassis models. These mowers come with 32 or 42 inch cutting widths. The 74726 is a very popular model with the 42 inch deck. It has a very compact size for those smaller yards that still want the productivity of a zero turn.

All the Toro TimeCutter SS series zero turn riders have the swing on handlebars. The controls for your height is spring-assisted and is marked inside for your height of cut. TimeCutter SS series zero turn riders all come with the Smart Speed Control system which is a unique system. With this system you can select different speeds depending on your conditions.

The Toro TimeCutter SS series zero turn riders have a trim, tow and mow speed. With the trim speed, if you have a lot of tight mowing it basically slows your overall ground speed down, so it makes it easier to operate when doing trim work. The tow speed is kind of a mid-range but still gives you a little more power to the transmission, and then you have your regular mow speed for your conventional mowing or if you have a lot of straight, open mowing this gives you a higher ground speed.

Toro TimeCutter SS series zero turn riders boast incredible features including heavy-duty rear engine guards, washout ports, dual hydrostatic drive systems, and a braking system that automatically stops the mower deck and sets the parking brake when you need to get off the mower while keeping the engine running. These zero turns are designed for both homeowners and landscape professionals looking for powerful and durable machines.

Toro TimeCutter SS series zero turn riders also provide enhanced comfort while delivering the performance and reliability needed to handle tough yard tasks.

Buyer’s Guide to Toro TimeCutter HD Series Zero Turn Riders

Buyer's Guide to Toro TimeCutter HD Series Zero Turn Riders

Toro TimeCutter HD series zero turn riders boast incredible features including heavy-duty rear engine guards, washout ports, dual hydrostatic drive systems, and a braking system that automatically stops the mower deck and sets the parking brake when you need to get off the mower while keeping the engine running. These zero turns are designed for both homeowners and landscape professionals looking for powerful and durable machines. Toro TimeCutter HD series zero turn riders also provide enhanced comfort while  delivering the performance and reliability needed to handle tough yard tasks.

The Toro TimeCutter HD series zero turn riders are a nice step up from the standard Toro TimeCutter SS or TimeCutter MX series mowers. The HD series are similar to the Toro Titan mowers or some of your other commercial mowers, so they kind of fit in the middle for somebody who wants a little more machine without going into full-fledged commercial grade machine.

The Toro TimeCutter HD series zero turn riders feature a standard platform or the very popular, what Toro calls, MyRide suspension system. The MyRide suspension system basically uses twin shocks on the rear of the machine with a shock in the middle so your platform is suspended, and this is adjustable to accommodate different weight operators or different mowing conditions. To adjust the shock, you just slide your shock system over.

When you’re on the Toro TimeCutter HD series zero turn riders with MyRide you’ll get more of a rocking motion, so the machine takes a lot of the pressure off your back. These are very comfortable machines to operate. If you have rougher conditions the MyRide suspension system would be a nice option to look at.

We mentioned that the Toro TimeCutter HD series is kind of in-between a residential and commercial machine. Some other feature with the Toro TimeCutter HD series zero turn riders are larger front wheel tires. The TimeCutter HD series have an upgraded ZT 3100 transmission. The double-sided caster forks provide durability while the wider, smooth front casters offer less turfing.

The mower deck on the Toro TimeCutter HD series zero turn riders is not always fabricated. These mowers have a deeper, heavier duty deck with heavier duty spindles and belts to give you added durability. On many of the Toro TimeCutter HD mowers, you’ll find the Toro commercial V-Twin engine either in a 22 ½ or 24 ½ horse configuration. These are nice, upgraded features from your base engine. The Toro TimeCutter HD series zero turn riders have high torque levels and are extremely durable.

How to Lubricate the Cables on a Toro 20332 Lawn Mower – Using Seafoam Deep Creep DC14

How-to-Lubricate-the-Cables-on-a-Toro-Lawn-Mower - Featured Image

The grass is growing and it’s not going to cut itself, so your lawn mower needs to be prepped and ready to mow. It is normal for your walk behind lawn mower to have an issue or two that needs fixing over time. While it’s important to fix issues when they arise, it’s also important to performance maintenance on your mower when no issue is present. A little maintenance, such as lubricating the cables on your Toro walk behind lawn mower, goes a long way. Here’s how to lubricate the cables on a Toro 20332 lawn mower, using Seafoam Deep Creep DC14.

Before performing any repair or maintenance on your mower, please follow these safety precautions: shut off the lawn mower engine and allow it to cool, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.

To carry out this task, you’ll need a can of penetrating lube – Seafoam deep creep.

To lubricate the cables on a Toro 20332 lawn mower using Seafoam Deep Creep DC14, turn the mower until the back of the machine is facing you. There are two places on the cable where you need to apply the Seafoam penetrating lube. One is on the bottom of the cable, in the entrance, and the other area is right on top.

When using the Seafoam, make sure you have the red straw attached to your can. Insert the straw in the top of the cable – where the cable goes into the outside lining. Apply the lube in the outside lining of the bottom cable and work the cable back and forth. This allows the lube to move down the cable and prevent moisture or anything that is in the cable from staying there.

Apply the Seafoam to the outside lining of the upper cable as well, and work the cable back and forth again, allowing the lube proper penetration down the cable shaft.

Again, regular maintenance is beneficial and results in a long-lasting walk behind lawn mower. If you’re not a do-it-yourself-er, feel free to bring your lawn mower to us and we’ll perform the necessary maintenance.
